Dollar Bank officially opened its new branch in Pittsburgh's Hill District Tuesday. It is Dollar's 64th location, or 38th in the Pittsburgh metro, and its only in-store branch, located within the Shop'n Save supermarket at 1850 Centre Ave.

"We have nothing else like it," said Joseph Smith, senior vice president of marketing.

At just 750 square feet, the newest site employs two but has a personal teller machine that operates 14 hours per day.

"We also put in smart ATMs so checks have accelerated availability because everything is imaged on site," Smith said.

Dollar, which is privately held, is Pittsburgh's sixth-largest financial institution according to deposit market share.
