Radio Golf is the final play in August Wilson's Century Cycle, a series of ten plays that chronicle African-American life in the 20th century. The play is set in Pittsburgh in the late 1990s and follows Harmond Wilks, a real estate developer and entrepreneur who wants to become Pittsburgh's first Black mayor. Wilks is determined to revive his childhood neighborhood, the Hill District, but grapples with the risk of losing the neighborhood's history.
