Learn to Knit

In this teach-in participants will learn the basics of the art of knitting: selecting a pattern and yarn, casting on, basic stitches, making I-cords. The project will be a small bag that can be used by anyone to carry essentials.
Indabas are traditionally councils or meetings of indigenous peoples of southern Africa to discuss an important matter. Today, across the world, Africana teachers, artists of all genres, grassroots leaders and youth have indabas to bring innovative ideas and knowledge that increase our lives and communities. Please join with Ujamaa members and friends in an intimate learning environment for our workshops that will help enhance and cultivate creativity, wellness, and culture!
